JUST KICKIN BACK CHARTERS BEGINNINGS & HISTORY
He grew up in Florida and has spent his whole life fishing in the Gulf and Atlantic. He has led several fishing charters, commercial fishing expeditions, and eco-tours. Also, He now has a Commercial Reef Fishing Permit for the Gulf of Mexico and fishes commercially on the side. It is vital to him that everyone who visits Just Kickin Back has a good time and hopefully learns something new. So, his passion is teaching our youth to fish and witnessing the delight it offers them.
At this time the fishing is done on a 28′ ProCat powered by two Suzuki 250 4-stroke outboards. Catamarans are well-known for their smooth, dry ride in stormy water. There is plenty of seating on the bow, as well as coolers and bean bags in the rear. The Just Kickin’ Rear is outfitted with all conventional safety equipment, including radar and sonar, bait wells, fish storage, a Bluetooth radio, and a large swim platform in the back.

Moreover, the boat is federally permitted, allowing us to legally fish beyond 9 miles, distinguishing us from other charters in the region. They have several pick-up locations across Anna Maria Island, but our primary spot is on Holmes Beach. Also, they provide charters ranging from 4 to 12 hours in length. Their objective is to provide an enjoyable and unique experience for fishermen of all skill levels.
On their boat trips, you may either cruise about looking for dolphins and other animals or enjoy front-row seats to the most spectacular sunsets Florida has to offer.

A big thanks to Captain Phil! We took a six hour boat ride, and with 3 out of our 6 people struggling with motion sickness, he was very understanding. We had a great time! We were very impressed with all of his hard work, baiting our hooks, casting our lines, taking fish off the hooks and filleting the fish. Being from the Midwest and used to doing things for ourselves, it was hard to sit back and watch him do everything, but much appreciated.
