Chris and Robin Sorensen appear to have been destined to create Firehouse Subs® after growing up in a family that is both entrepreneurial and founded on decades of fire and police service.
Of course, they experimented with other things on their route to the American Dream, including rock ‘n’ roll, real estate, and even Christmas tree farming. But everything they encountered along the way led them to launch the first Firehouse Subs.
More than 27 years later with almost 1,200 Firehouse Subs locations, People return when they are well-treated and fed. People, it turns out, have the same tastes as our Founders – the greatest meats, cheeses, and toppings we can locate. Consider our Hook & Ladder® Sub, which has Virginia honey ham, smoked turkey breast, and melted Monterey Jack cheese.
People return because, unlike other sub shops, we steam our meats and cheeses to release a burst of flavors before stuffing a portion that’s well over code on one of our toasted private-recipe sub buns. It’s a winning mix that appeals to both insatiable appetites and the value-conscious.
