MOTORWORKS BREWING BEGINNINGS & HISTORY
Frank and Denise Tschida co-founded Motorworks Brewing, Bradenton’s first craft brewery. They felt they had found something special the moment they lay eyes on the Bradenton property.
The 27,000-square-foot facility was built in 1923 as an automotive dealership, replete with a concrete ramp used to transfer automobiles from the ground floor service area. Also, it now contains Motorworks full-production Brewery and Taproom.
Formerly home to a Hudson Motors dealership in the late 1940s and early 1950s, the building’s automotive heritage, together with Frank’s Sprint Car/ASA background, inspired the Motorworks Brewing moniker and hood ornament emblem. To reflect their building’s illustrious background, the Motorworks Brewing crew attempts to offer its own inventive and innovative approach to brewing.
In addition, Motorworks Brewing has Florida’s largest beer garden, complete with a spacious deck built around a magnificent 150+-year-old oak tree, a spacious turfed lawn sporting over a dozen cornhole sets, a bocce ball court, life-sized Jenga and Connect Four, a large Live Music stage featuring eclectic bands and artists on a weekly basis, and a 22-foot projection screen for viewing films or sporting events.
THE BEST BREWERIES ON AMI : MOTORWORKS BREWING
Motorworks is at 1014 9th Street West in Bradenton, FL, about halfway between the downtown Riverwalk and the freshly restored LECOM Field (spring training stadium for the Pittsburgh Pirates and home of the Bradenton Marauders). Moreover, the brewery is located next to Bradenton’s distinctive Village of the Arts, in the heart of the city’s booming downtown entertainment district.
Their taproom is the ideal setting for a fresh pint of beer or a drink with friends. They have 20-30 rotating craft beers on tap, as well as a complete liquor bar and a large wine collection. While you’re here, taste some of our rotating Pilot System beers, which are only available on-site.

They have a large selection of beers! The beer and food we had were very good! Monica, our bartender, was great! Very informative about the beers, food, and area breweries. They also have a great outdoor beer garden with a stage for live music, but I’m not sure when they have that.
