SALT & PEPPER CAFE BEGINNINGS & OWNERS
Salt & Pepper Cafe was created by owners Lisa Prather and Matthew Smith after renovating the premises formerly held by Theresa’s Restaurant.
Firstly, Chef Lisa is a Pinellas County native who received her culinary degree at the Art Institute of Tampa and the University of Tampa. She runs A Fresh Connection Catering, Cafe & Bakery, and Florida Chefs Workshop, a shared-use commercial kitchen that allows culinary entrepreneurs to create and process their products for the consumer market. She became acquainted with the location that is now Salt & Pepper Cafe through her catering company.
Secondly, Chef Matthew is a St. Petersburg native who has worked in the hotel and culinary industry for over 25 years and was trained as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. “We felt we could do this and do it well,” Smith said of achieving the Salt & Pepper concept. “We have some incredible plans and are really happy to be here.”
Salt & Pepper Cafe is a one-of-a-kind downtown Bradenton restaurant with cuisine inspired by the concept of basic and honest cooking. They have produced a one-of-a-kind eating experience for all visitors. For its visitors, they provide breakfast, lunch, and brunch cuisines. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. If you want to bring your dog, their outside patio is dog friendly.
