CITY PIER GRILL BEGINNINGS & HISTORY
The Anna Maria City Pier is home to the City Pier Grill and Bait Shop. For all Anna Maria City Pier visitors, they provide fresh cuisine, ice cream, beer, and wine, as well as Bait and Tackle.
Initially constructed in 1911, it was recently restored in 2020 following Hurricane Irma destruction in September of 2017. After several years of planning, fundraising, and building, the mayor and municipal commission’s vision for the new pier has been achieved. The City Pier has been a hallmark for Anna Maria Island and the number one tourist attraction in Manatee County for many years. They aim to serve the public and give access to such a beautiful monument for many years to come.
The City Pier Grill and Bait Shop opened in late 2020 after winning the bidding procedure to operate on the Anna Maria City Pier.
The founders, who were already partners in Pine Avenue Bait and Tackle, each had other companies that complemented the notion of a Grill and Bait Shop.
For the last ten years, Brian Seymour has owned and operated The Anna Maria General Store and Deli. Victor Mattay has owned Dips Ice Cream for over 20 years, and Nicholas Graham owns Graham Slam Bait and Tackle.
In addition, Their father/son manager Chris Powers and chef Jacob Powers have concentrated on excellent cuisine at family-friendly costs, with 95 percent of our menu items produced fresh in-house.

They are more than a snack store, but due to their outdoor seating, they are not nearly a full-service restaurant. Breakfast sandwiches, handmade sausage gravy and biscuits, Blackened Fish Tacos, Cuban sandwiches, and fresh burgers were among the early favorites of their customers.
Every day, they provide a variety of chef-inspired specialties.
Weather permitting, we feature local entertainment on the pier immediately in front of the Grill every afternoon and early evening. In addition to delicious meals, we sell beer, wine, seltzers, and other beverages from our grill, as well as the greatest soft serve ice cream, gelatos, snow cones, and other treats.

$12 rental for fishing rod and bait. No admin charge. Happy hour 3-7 on beer. Lots of locals come to fish in the morning and nighttime. Red snapper, sharks, etc. Best to bring your own smaller hooks to catch these bigger fish.
