ABOUT MANATEE PUBLIC BEACH
This spacious public beach is centrally located on Anna Maria Island in the Holmes Beach community at 4000 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach, FL.
Manatee Public Beach is located in Holmes Beach, right off Gulf Drive. The park is open from sunrise to 10 p.m. and is a great place to visit at any time of the day. The beach has three access points, making it easy to get to and enjoy.
The free island trolley stops just there, making it easy to get there no matter where your Holmes Beach vacation rental or other island housing is situated.
On any given day, enormous numbers of individuals and families may be found resting and enjoying the sun, waves, and wonderful weather, relaxing with umbrellas and beach chairs, swimming, and building sand castles.
If you’re wanting to get out in the sun with some of the nicest seaside vistas and pure blue waters that you can find on Anna Maria Island, there’s no better spot than Manatee Public Beach.
HOW TO GET THERE?
It is quite simple to get to Manatee Public Beach. That might be why it’s a popular hangout for both residents and visitors. What is the fastest method? Take the island’s free trolley and get dropped off right at the beach.
There is also a huge, free parking area with up to 120 parking spaces. But keep in mind that this is one of the most popular beaches on the island, so it isn’t always enough. Plan to arrive early to secure your seat, or consider alternate modes of transportation.
There is some street parking available, but it is restricted, so keep an eye out for any no parking signs. These parking regulations are taken seriously by the local authorities.
FACILITIES & AMENITIES
One of the finest aspects of the Manatee Public Beach is the abundance of local facilities. Of course, there will be a white sandy beach and stunning blue clear seas. Manatee Public Beach, on the other hand, is much more than simply a beach, and it’s worth at least one visit while your stay at the Tstays Rentals.
There are additional chairs, bike racks, barbecues, and picnic tables here. This makes it ideal for spending the full day and even bringing lunch. If you don’t want to bring a picnic, that’s great too; there’s a concession stand where you can get a snack or a nice drink. If the beach becomes too tiresome, you may go visit the volleyball courts or playgrounds.
Also, there are changing cabanas as well as full facilities and showers, as well as a foot wash.
BEACH RENTALS ARE AVAILABLE
You will also not have to tote beach furniture every time you visit Manatee Public Beach. The café offers low-cost daily rentals of cabanas, umbrellas, and beach chairs.
On Manatee Public Beach, there is also a tiny bamboo beach bar that sells non-alcoholic beverages, beer, and frozen mixed cocktails. While you’re there, pick up a hard-carved monkey coconut cup for a one-of-a-kind keepsake!

We were concerned about not having beach chairs, but were quite happy when we discovered that they rented lounge chairs for $9 a piece. Also, there was a walk up restaurant counter that had a decent selection of food, and they delivered your food to your table. We had burgers, which were fine. There is a bar right next to the restaurant, also near the restrooms. They also had the little stand up showers to wash the sand off your feet. It really seemed like they had everything we needed!
